Course Information

Summary: Electrostatics, magnetostatics, electric and magnetic properties of matter, Maxwell's equations, electromagnetic wave propagation. A short library skills component will be included. This course will cover chapters 1-7 and 9 of Griffiths Introduction to Electrodynamics. The course builds upon material from the following pre-requisite courses: PHYS 1002H: Introductory Physics II; PHYS–MATH 2150H: Ordinary differential equations; MATH 2110H: Calculus III: Calculus of several variables; MATH 2120H Calculus IV: Vector Calculus
